Bishop of Lancaster: Catholics schools to teach the faith and have chapels and devotions

Action: Catholics in the diocese of Lancaster should support Bishop Patrick O'Donoghue and make sure his instructions are followed.

Comment: an excellent initiative in the wasteland of Catholic education in the UK. That schools should build chapels, have crucifixes in classrooms, teach the whole faith and introduce Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament and the Rosary, is revolutionary, although it should not be.

Hat-tip to Damian Thompson.

Thank God the story has got out at last. I was rather furious last week on my blog because leading catholic bloggers were ignoring it.

Pope Leo XIII's Prayer to St Michael

Holy Michael, Archangel, defend us in the day of battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, Prince of the Heavenly Host, by the power of God, thrust down to Hell Satan, and all wicked spirits who wander through the world for the ruin of souls. Amen
