The Liturgy Office of the Bishops' Conference
"According to the Catholic Herald's Rome correspondent, Edward Penna, the Vatican is encouraging anyone opposed to changes to the Holy Days of Obligation to make their case directly to Rome. 'Such criticism needs to be taken seriously, so it would be a help for such complaints to be made directly to the Holy See', said one official, speaking anonymously. Objections should be sent to the Congregation for Bishops." CFNews

Letter to the Catholic Herald (Aug 11 2006), from Mr Frank Swarbrick: '... The Catholic Union of Great Britain, that most respected group of faithful Catholics, should be applauded for considering "an appeal" against the bishops' decision. Many ordinary Catholics are looking for somebody to take a lead. May we now hope that the Catholic Union will be at the forefront of this discussion and we shall have the opportunity to speak.'Cardinal Giovanni Battista Re, Prefect,
