Liturgical restoration in St Peter's, Rome

Action: if you have one of these hideous things disfiguring your local church, perhaps now is the time to replace it with something more fitting. Ugliness, and things in discord with the traditions of the Church - liturgical, architectural, iconographic - have no place in our churches, and the Holy Father is leading the way in expunging them from St Peter's.

Here was an unfortunate experiment with modern materials and an aethetics designed to suggest the Church is 'with it' in a technological age instead of to raise the heart to God, imposed on St Peter's Basilica in the 1960s:
